Dying Man Battling Cancer Holds Pre-Death Party For 50 People (pic & video)

A man in Poland, battling cancer, chose to bid farewell to life on his own terms by organising a goodbye party.

This party became a rare gesture in a culture where openly acknowledging one’s impending death is avoided and is believed to bring bad luck.

The reel shared by his daughter on her Instagram handle @planetbibi, has gone viral sparking conversations about life, death and power of such goodbyes.

Defying the norm of Stypa, which is a Polish tradition of honouring the deceased after the funeral, the man arranged a Pre-Stypa, gathering 50 special guests. The evening was filled with shared memories and gratitude as he presented a slideshow and narrated anecdotes about all his guests.

The man can be seen saying, “I am a little bit nervous because everything is not prepared perfect, but I think we’ll be okay.”

The video has struck a chord online, with likes and comments pouring in from people touched by his courage.

“Tears…how beautiful. Bless your Dad and your family”, commented a user.

Another commented, “I love this! Very brave, but what an amazing way to say goodbye.”

“There is something profoundly beautiful about celebrating life while we are still here to feel the love…Blessings to your father.” a third user commented.
